Outings & Adventures
Summer Camp
A week at a Scout camp each summer, merit badges, waterfront, shooting sports, and campfires under the stars. It's the cornerstone of the troop's year and where new Scouts make their biggest leap in advancement.
High Adventure
Bigger trips for older, experienced Scouts, backpacking, sailing, canoeing, and the national high-adventure bases. Age and rank requirements apply, and crews train for months before they set out.
Monthly Outings
A weekend outing nearly every month, camping, hiking, paddling, climbing, and service close to home. It's where Scouts put the skills they learn at meetings to work outdoors.

Troop traditions
Some trips come around every year and carry the troop's identity with them.
- King Ranch RendezvousAn Old West themed rendezvous at a private ranch: archery, black powder and .22 rifles, skeet, tomahawk throwing, and pioneering events, capped by a Texas barbecue cooked on site for 250+ scouts, families, and guests, then a bonfire of patrol skits and songs. Visiting Webelos dens are welcome and take on BB gun and skill events per BSA policy.
- Enchanted Rock rappellingRappelling off real Hill Country granite with the troop's own climbing gear and certified adult instructors.
- Summer camp on the roadSummer camp often travels: recent years have reached Oklahoma, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and Colorado, and older scouts field 3 to 4 high-adventure crews a year on top of it.
